Tennessee, US, 11th August 2023, ZEX PR WIRE<\/a>,<\/strong> The Church of Scientology Nashville held its eighth annual Friendship Day open house at the end of July, with participation from the diverse population that makes up the ever growing city.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe love bringing a diverse group of people together and demonstrating the power of friendship,\u201d says Rev. Brian Fesler, pastor of the Church of Scientology. \u201cMost of life\u2019s problems come from our basic misunderstanding of each other\u2014a misunderstanding of intentions\u2014getting along with one another starts with getting to know each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Church of Scientology partners in this effort with The Way to Happiness Association of Tennessee, which provides a community betterment program based on the book <\/span>The Way to Happiness<\/span><\/em> by L. Ron Hubbard. The initiative is predicated on the fact that one\u2019s survival depends on the survival of others\u2014and that without the survival of others, neither joy nor happiness is attainable. Several precepts in the book promote dialogue and friendship, among them \u201cRespect the Religious Beliefs of Others,\u201d \u201cBe Worthy of Trust,\u201d and \u201cTry to Treat Others As You Would Want Them to Treat You.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The International Day of Friendship was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011 in the belief that \u201cfriendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The International Friendship Day theme was \u201csharing the human spirit through friendship,\u201d as announced by the United Nations. The Nashville event always embodies the spirit of the day with dialogue between those of all faith traditions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
